It was the primroses that did it and so I decided to make a small hanging using some of them to brighten up the kitchen and turning to some lovely spring stamps for my sentiments.
I started with an MDF Flag Bunting and experimented with tissue tape, stamping, gesso, paints and inks. The MDF certainly allows a lot of product to be applied with no buckling.
I didn't want to hide the background too much but the Fleur de Lis Wood Fence is just perfect for adding a bit of interest.
I love the wonderful selection of Word Elements made by Calico Craft Parts but sometimes I do use the other side and stamp my own sentiment. I have just dabbed a bit of white paint on it before stamping in Archival Ink.
I managed to isolate part of a stamp to fill the small space in one of the Mini Label Holders. Again this has just been daubed with white paint - I love how the MDF shows through and makes it look quite vintage without any work at all !
A lovely splash of colour in these darker days of Winter.
If you would like to know how I created the flowers you access the tutorial on my blog HERE.
As always thank you for joining me and happy crafting!

DeleteThe railings provide lovely architecture for the primroses, and I love that layered grungy (but always shabby chic grunge!) background. I know exactly what you mean about springtime appearing on the desk!

Thank you Alison - those railings appear in so many of my projects. Such a useful embellishment to have.
