Altered Bottle - Witching Hour

Hello creative friends!

I was inspired to create again a bottle in altered Art.

Using the layer technique, I have put together a number of different pieces

to make an old raven witches' clock with a pendulum.

I love these old bottles in a dark romantic style,

you can just light them up

and they create a eerily beautiful atmosphere.

Little forest house

 Hello everyone!

When I saw the latest Birdhouse Kits
I was inspired to create a magical little forest house.
would be very suitable for a similar craft idea.

I used a simple wooden birdhouse as base, worked with some
suitable MDF shapes and natural dried materials.

The perfect addition for me was the sunbeam door
and the little spider web canopy, they take us into an enchanted world
where elves feel at home.

Halloween Decor by Kerstin

Welcome creative friends!

I was inspired to create a Halloween - Welcome door sign in 3D look.

here you can also leave your keys

for practical reasons :-)

I worked with a background paper, some cutting dies and some suitable

assescoires.

In the center you see the awesome

which was created with rusty acrylics and some texture.

In the middle of the frame I attached a small MDF part as a shelf.

Dark Forest - Homedecor by Kerstin

Welcome creative friends!

I found an old home decoration piece on flea market,
two mushrooms are made of felt and I liked them.

They inspired me to decorate them with some MDF shapes
 and make them unique.

Thought of a moonlight night in the dark forest
and you can see that I already started with Halloween crafts ๐Ÿ˜€.

Riding on a Bat! By Kat

I have always been interested in fairies, pixies, witches and fairy folk and had many books on the subject as a child. Some were hand me downs from older family members, some I bought with my pocket money from car boot fairs and jumble sales. One of the many images I used to love, and still do is the little fairy riding on a bat by Ida Rentoul Outhwaite. As a child my house was right by a river and on warm sunny evenings we often used to get bats swooping gracefully in our garden as they chased insects. I used to lie on the grass watching them imagining I was that fairy going for a ride!

So using Calico Craft Parts mdf shapes here is my version of the same fairy and even though she is now older, like myself, she is still enjoying riding on a bat!

Firstly I painted all my mdf shapes with white matt paint, I find this gives it a good base before adding coloured paints. Once dry I used water colour paints. To add some sparkle to my fairy's dress I added some gold acrylic paint.

I then painted a simple river scene onto the circular mixed media board. I was planning on using a larger moon at first but then to my delight found one of Calico Craft Parts mini circles was a perfect size to use! So I painted this with matt white paint.

Once the paint had dried I arranging my bullrushes until I was happy with their position. I then glued them into place.

I then did the same with my moon, bats and fairy, positioning and gluing them into place. To add colour to the moon and bats I used some distressed crayons.

To finish off the whole scene I added a little cardboard wording quote.
The string ribbon is a length of gardening hemp.

Well I hope you enjoyed another 'Kat Make'. Please contact me if you have any questions and of course if you like it let me know. It's always nice to hear from you.
Until next time,
Kat ๐Ÿ˜Š

Witching Hour in Haunted Castle by Kerstin

 Hello, creative friends!

I was thrilled when I discovered the "Haunted Castle Shrine" at Calico Craft Parts - just great!

It looks like an enchanted castle, right?! And it reminds me on some wonderful Disney film stories. At first I was not sure how I wanted to design the interior, then these old grandfather clocks came to my mind and I decided to hang a clock pendulum inside.

 Tips & Tricks

First I drilled a hole in the middle of the upper part, then I connected the border to the spider's web with the help of a small metal ring (used for jewellery making), the upper part of the oak vine was pushed through the opening and then fixed with another small wooden part.

Now the pendulum was free to move! From my own experience I can now report that the oak vine was a bit too delicate for the constant "Tick Tock , Tick Tock" ๐Ÿ˜of the clock pendulum.

But hey - to go by empiricism is wiser than just trusting in wishful thinking, right?!

For the clock pendulum I used the following parts:

Spider Web Flourish

Oak Leaves and Acorns Border

completed with

Winged Devil

Creatures of the Night - Sheet of Halloween Mini Wood Shapes

The base - before colouring and designing

Listen to the pendulum swinging - tick tock, tick tock ;-)
