Fluttering Butterflies! By Trish

Hello!
I am so pleased to start posting DT projects for Calico Craft Parts again!

My first project is painty and colourful...so not much has changed in the months we've been away then!

I have used a rectangle birch plaque as my base. These are fabulous, great smooth surface to paint on, and nice and sturdy too! This one is 200 x 100 mm in size. I painted it, then added a little texture by scraping texture paste through a stencil....

I stamped the flowers on red painted cardstock, cut them out and attached them to some painted sticks...

My butterflies are 8 from the mini butterfly style 4 set... painted, then hot glued to wire. They flutter over the flowers!

You can get lots of detail on them, considering how teeny they are!

Have a fabulous day everyone!

Trish xxxx

  2. Beautiful plaque Trish! LOVE your 3D projects, you have made your flowers look like they are waving on the breeze and the butterflies are drawn to them to rest upon :-) xxx

  8. Woohoo. Welcome Back Calico Craft Parts!!!
As I thought, Trish, this is fabulous, so bright, funky & some cool techniques. To achieve so much detail on the butterflies is amazing? Your usual imagination gives us a visual feast, look at the flowers & breezy grass!? Now, do I need more butterflies? Hmmmm..... Tfs & I am genuinely chuffed to bits to see H&S back (& the DT of course)😊

  9. Totally looks "real" - like a floral arrangement - and sure would rather have this than something that dies!! Soooooo pretty. j
