Red-hot - "Fire and Flames" by Kerstin

Hello crafty friends!

When I discovered the awesome Winged Devil
I fell totally in love because his great batman wings and the hanging foot exude so much vitality.
At the same time, he seems very mysterious, cunning and devious.
So I decided he should become my eye catcher for a new Halloween shadow frame.

Calico Craft Parts used:

His sitting posture was perfect for putting him on a home-made fireplace.
The flickering flames were created with orange neon luminous paint by Decoart.

I used the Shaped Profile Greyboard Mixed Media Board as a wall picture. It was primed with white Gesso and the edges were aged with distress ink. Afterwards I stamped over it with a spider web stamp. Finally I added Halloween ephemera, embellishments and die cuts. At the end it was brushed with white acrylic paint.

As I had seen an idea on Pinterest some months ago where a simple plastic frame was used,
I was inspired and went searching for the right frame.
I found it in a Euro Store; the frame was square
and so I just had to remove the bottom part.
Really simple, but a cool effect!

I love this font, because I think this style is very suitable for Halloween.

I used two pieces from this amazing Skeleton Tree
for the border design

A crackling fire in the fireplace, the pot is filled with delicious things ;-)

  2. A brilliantly eerie and haunting creation, Kerstin. The flames flickering in the fireplace and licking their way up his wings look amazing, and the broken down frame makes a great setting for all the fantastic texture and detail.
