This Way to the Beach by Jennie

Hello everyone! and I hope you will come to the beach with me today!

I had absolutely tremendous fun creating this lovely beach piece, so much in fact that I forgot to take any photographs of how it came into being. But I have loads of close ups for you!

So ...... this way to the beach ....

I found a chunk of wood in my husband's wood store and dry brushed it with chalk coloured Chalk Paint.

Some items I painted, others I just dry brushed. The oars were left over from my project using the Boat Kit!

I had intended to paint the hut in beach colours but it just sort of stayed dry brushed weathered chalk ......

Got to love this tiny little bell !

The Word Element was also dry brushed with chalk paint.

The shells and driftwood have been collected over the years both here in Shetland and abroad.  I just love the subtle blues and pinks.

A lovely summery project to remind me of the most wonderful summer we are having this year. Here in the north the temperatures have been very comfortable and despite the wind we have enjoyed being outside in the garden and at the beach .... and of course sailing.

Thank you for joining me today and happy crafting!

  3. This is such a lovely project, Jennie. I can hear the seagulls' cries and sniff the salt sea air. I love the chalky white of the beach hut: a beautiful, atmospheric piece. xx
