Where Feathers Fall by Lesley

This week i have made a plaque using the gorgeous mini feathers. I've had these for a while and was itching to use them!

I used a piece a wood from my shed and gave it a coat of gesso. Then i used the beautiful chalk paints by Decoart (still my most favest paints) A base coat of Everlasting, then a layer of the crackle paint then a top coat of the Primitive colour. Once this was dry, i rubbed in some of the Relic paint. Before completely dried, i rubbed some off with a dry cloth. This actually lifted some of the paint giving the wood a really weathered look.

Using a paint lid and a bit of card i added some detail to the wood using the colour Serene.
I used a selection of feathers and painted them with Relic chalk paint before gluing down.

The quote was stamped onto bits of canvas and coloured with ink.

A touch of gilding wax added to feathers for a bit highlight finished the piece off.

Thanks for reading.
