Alice in Wonderland - Mixed Media Inspiration

 

 Hello!

 

 I was really excited to try out a new technique again, 

and the Alice theme was absolutely perfect for this!

 I formed some strands from old newspapers and made a keyhole, 

then painted it with the appropriate colours to create some gnarled old trees.

 The result is a very cool 3d effect 😍

 The new Alice shape fitted perfectly into the centre of this hole.

Storage Box with MDF Cube Kit

 

  Hello everyone!

 

Today a new inspiration how versatile and creative you can work 

with the MDF shapes.

I needed new storage boxes for pens, notes, 

business cards and similar things.

Thatswhy I decided to use a very practical box kit,

have used the two parts of the box separately from each other.

I am a big fan of the magic forest theme and so I quickly found the right shapes. 

I love these old whimsical trees and this mystical gothic window. 

Mdf parts can not only be designed in very different coloursand textures, 

but you can also divide them very well and create new ideas with them.

The Haunt of Fairies: junk journal by Louise, Zuzu, Crosbie.

 

Hi there. 

Today I’m sharing with you a very simple junk journal that I put together and decorated using mostly “Calico craft parts”. 

I’m very ‘into junk’ journals at the moment and very ‘into’ toadstools. So I made a large toadstool the start of my focal point. I simply built up a little woodland floral composition on a piece of board I’d already added texture to through a stencil. And once I’d gessoed and painted it, I added my ‘fairy’ and also a little phrase cut from an old book.

Today, I am sharing this decorated trinket box. I’ve chose an Autumn theme as it is my favourite season.

I used acrylic paints and course sand to create a rust effect and crackle glaze on the leaves and toadstools.

I highlighted the cracks using white antiquing cream and rubbed the excess off before it dried too much.

The inside of the box was painted pumpkin orange for a nice bright contrast.
