Witching Hour by Jannet

The Witching Hour is fast approaching so we had better start brewing !

Crafters always keep anything useful, so true to form I kept the inner piece from a beach hut creation I had made earlier in the year. I adhered this to the bottom of a mixed media board to create a ledge for the witches to begin brewing at their cauldron. A full moon would of course also be needed to brew by.

For the witches cauldron I used texture paste, and when dry I coated it with black paint. Their cauldron brew is already bubbling over, so I used a little bead gel to represent the bubbles.

I used granite paste on the coffin, and painted the Witching Hour and spider web with black paint. Lots of bottles of various substances are needed to create a witches brew. I gave each little bottle it’s own eerie contents.

To create the drip from the ominous contents of one of the bottles I let glossy accents drip down the mixed Media Board.  A little coarse marble dust around the base of the bottles, gave them a spooky and dubious look...

I adhered the cackling witches in place, and added twigs, fibres, art stones, and various other witchy  whatnots around them.

I completed the Witching Hour by straggling some white needle felting wool over the top of the board, and threading some raffia through the holes so I could hang it up in my porch.

Happy Brewing xx

  1. Love how the two are brewing their potion in the cauldron! I can almost hear them chatter about what to put in next. Seems they've already almost thrown in everything they have. lol
