Christmas Baubles......Lesley Styley

Hey everyone, Lesley here with some more Crimbo decs!

Its no secret that i love the mini craft shapes. Absolute bargain prices, fab sizes and there are so many designs to choose from.
To decorate my decs, i chose to use the mini feathers.

The baubles were originally just plain white porcelain.
I started by giving the first one a coat of crackle glaze. Once dry, i rubbed in some antiquing cream.
I then gave it another coat of crackle, but only in patches.

When that was dry, i rubbed silver paint over the top. Loving the look of a double layer of crackle.

I removed the twine from the top and made my own hanger piece using wire and seed beads.

The feathers were painted silver, which i then twisted a length of wire each one looping and adding seed beads as i went along. This was then glued to the top of the bauble.

The next bauble, i gave it a coat of silver paint. Then covered the top part with a matt medium and then rolled the bauble into small texture balls. At this point....it resembled a christmas pudding!

I used a white spray ink next letting the ink dribble down the sides. Over the top of the texture balls, i used a shimmery blue spray ink.

The bottom of the bauble still looked a bit plain, so i used an iridescent blue paint.....turned out kinda cool as it didn't like the silver, so left some great patterns!

To finish the bauble off.......i painted some more feathers with the iridescent paint and glued them on top of some fluffy feathers that i had attached to the top of the bauble.

I have one bauble left to decorate.......i think its going to end being rusted!

Thanks for reading.
