My 2015 Favourites - by Alison

Hello, and happy New Year everyone!  I think it's a good idea to start a new year by looking back over the journeys you took in the old year... and some of my favourite journeys of 2015 have been with the Calico Craft Parts.  I was so happy in April when they arrived back in Craftyblogland.

We've been asked to pick a trio of favourites to share with you, and I'm afraid I've failed yet again.  I've got four (sorry!)... and here they are.  (You can visit the posts by clicking on the links.)

It always seems to me that Calico Craft Parts and DecoArt products are the perfect partners in crime!  I loved using crackle and rust techniques, some of them adapted from Andy Skinner's classes, to alter some layered plaques and cogs and gears to create this piece of flotsam (or is it jetsam?  I can never remember the difference!).

It was a tough call between my Spooky Shrine full of skeletons and zombies and this little antique shop window.  The spooky one was such fun, but in the end I had to go with my heart!

The ATB kits are brilliant.  There are various styles, but this is the plain one, crackled of course.  And just look at all those glorious leaf designs... a sweep of Pan Pastels to colour and you're away.

I love playing with the ATC blanks.  In fact, I could have picked a whole trio of favourite ATCs!  But this was the clear winner.  I had a bit of a purple phase as autumn progressed towards winter.  Lots of crackle of course, wonderful bare tree branches, and this was the result.

So what do you think?  Did I pick your favourites?  If you think I've missed something, you can check out the complete collection by clicking on "Alison Bomber" in the labels at the foot of the post, and you'll get them all to scroll through.

I can't wait to see what new designs arrive in 2016 - it's always worth checking the latest products - and I'm looking forward to playing.  For now, though, happy New Year, and happy crafting all!

Alison xx

  5. Great choices! I have to laugh though at all these retrospectives. Recently a friend was carping, "What is with all these flashbacks?! You don't drive forward looking in the rearview mirror!!!!"
